To all of the agility clubs who contributed equipment, money, expertise, and passion for the sport…
To the host club, Salmon Arm Dog Agility Group, for giving it their all…
To the volunteers who arranged clothing, stuffed swag bags, ordered the ribbons, handled the registration, dealt and solved the daily chaos, kept the volunteer tent stocked…
To all the volunteers who came early or stayed up late; who supplied the crew for every ring, all the security and numerous other tasks; who got rained on and sunburned; everyone who generously shared their knowledge with newcomers…
To all of the sponsors, who enthusiastically contributed prizes and funds and made it possible to run an event of this scale in Salmon Arm…
To the vendors, the official photographer, and the therapists, who spent long days at the event…
To the volunteer organizers who stepped up from faraway places to organize volunteers and camping and otherwise fill in the gaps…
To the judges who managed with grace and kindness and kept up the focus through some long days…
To the competitors who came from near and far to support an event in a little place that had never done this before, and who displayed adaptability and patience and gratitude.
To all of you for every kind word, and every willingness to help out, and every constructive comment.
And the clean-up crews! I can only imagine how tired you were…
And most of all, to the organizers who had the vision and who put in months and months of hard work, including many very long days and more than a few sleepless nights.
This was the first agility event I had ever been to, and I was blown away by this magical community of collaborative dog-loving and sport-loving people. Thank you to everyone. (from Laurie Page, website manager)

Meet Our Judges:
Angela Koop
In 2009, my agility journey started in Kelowna with Jake, my Australian Shepherd. Fast forward to 2017, and I began my judging adventure in Saskatchewan. I have been fortunate to travel to multiple provinces across Canada to judge agility. Playing the game now with Monarch, my spirited Labrador Retriever, adds a new dimension to the excitement. The transition from participant to judge has been a fulfilling odyssey. I am excited to be invited to judge at my first regionals. The connection between teams on the course always brings me such joy. Best of luck to everyone – may the weekend be filled with teamwork, skill, and unforgettable moments!

I entered the world of dog agility in 1997, it was my first foray into any type of dog training. To this point, I had just been Kim’s support system. I started agility with Allie, one of Kim’s original trial dogs. Allie patiently (and at times arrogantly!) trained me to play the sport. She took me all over Canada and the USA. Because of Allie, and the sport of agility, I have met wonderful people from all over North America.
I have had the pleasure of training and running many wonderful dogs in my 25 years in agility. Each one of these amazing souls taught me something new and unique about the sport. The evolution of a Judge, I believe, is the education and knowledge we gain along the way and over the years and is best taught by our four-legged partners.
I became an all levels AAC Judge in 2002 and joined the UKI Judging panel as well when UKI was in its infancy. I consider myself very lucky as judging has taken me across Canada, allowing me the pleasure of a front row seat to those running their bffs.
I have had the honour of judging at the AAC Regional and National levels many times in my career. I have also enjoyed the pleasure of judging the UKI Nationals as well.
With our son now living in Austria, going to high school and playing hockey, and with our own facility in Prince Albert keeping us busy, I have done more judging at home as my travel now seems to be over to Europe to visit.
It’s an honour to be again asked to judge the BC Regionals. I have always enjoyed judging in this region, and am sure it will be a spectacular event again.
To all those I will see in the ring, enjoy these moments, they are gone far too quickly. Step into the ring with a smile, you have your best friend by your side. Leave the ring the same way, you are their whole world.
I look forward to seeing you all in my ring.
Have Fun! Smile! Enjoy the ride!

I am super excited to be chosen to be part of the 2024 AAC BC/Yukon Regionals judging team!
I took an obedience class with my first dog which included an intro to agility over 20 years ago and have been obsessed ever since. I have competed with 2 shelties, I am currently competing with a border collie and training my youngest, another sheltie. I have been judging for 9 years and love designing fast, flowing courses with fun challenges. I am looking forward to watching all the teams showcase their skills and make wonderful memories.
Good luck everyone!!

I have been an agility addict since my first competition back in 2004. I loved the sport so much that I took on the challenge of becoming a judge just 4 years later and have been happily cheering on teams from centre ring ever since. Because of my 3 dogs, Abbi, Rhyval, & Quasi(modo), I have been asked to represent Canada 18 times at the 3 World Agility Championships of FCI, IFCS, & WAO where we have won 9 medals/ribbons including that of World Champion.
Being a proud weekend warrior has enabled me to achieve all of AAC’s titles, from ADC up to the Versatility Platinum Excellent Award, along with using those hard earned skills to win 6 Nationals + 10 AB/NWT Regional Championships. I have been coaching others, both at home and across Canada, for the last 14 years along with co-hosting 6+ trials a year for OC Agility. Open, flowy, safe courses with appropriate challenges are what I strive to create to give all teams a fighting chance at success, regardless what size or speed of dog is running on them.
I am so pleased and excited to come back home to beautiful British Columbia and judge BC Regionals again. May the agility gods bring good weather, fun courses, clean runs, & joy in your heart as you run beside your furry teammate. Run hard. Run fast. Run proud!

Many thanks to our Platinum Sponsor!
